Which side of my car is Right-hand and which is Left-hand?
The right-hand side of your car is determined when you are sitting in the car facing forward, e.g. the steering wheel is on the right-hand side of the car. Never judge the sides of the car by standing in front, facing it.

Right-hand side = RH side = Drivers side = Off side

Left-hand side = LH side = Passengers side = Near side (side nearest the curb)

What do you mean by original equipment and aftermarket lighting?
Original equipment lighting is lighting supplied by the same manufactures who supply the car companies. They are just supplied in different boxes. It's very similar to the tyres on your car. If you buy a new car, for example a Mercedes-Benz, you wouldn't expect it to be fitted with Mercedes tyres. You know it will be fitted with a well know brand of tyres such as Michelin or Goodyear etc. Well, Headlamps and tail lights are just the same. Car manufacturers rarely make their own lights; they are instead supplied by specialist manufactures such as Hella, Magneti-Marelli or Valeo. We buy our headlamps from these manufacturers and sell them to the general public at discounted prices.

Aftermarket lighting is lighting manufactured by alternative lighting companies not connected with the car manufacturers. In essence, these lamps are copies of the original equipment lamps sold through the franchised dealer network. All aftermarket lamps supplied by Carlamp.com are sourced from reputable manufactures around the world and all are tested to meet strict European Homologation regulations - "The e-mark". Any light not referred to as Original Equipment is considered After Market.

The majority of headlamps and a lot of tail lamps advertised on Carlamp.com are Original Equipment.

How much is shipping?
Our Standard cost for shipping is £7.99 (5/6 working days) or £15.00 for priority service (2/3 working days).

Do you ship outside the UK?
No. We can ship small items ordered to remote areas in the United Kingdom but not to British forces based overseas. Enquiries regarding this should be sent to info@carlamp.com.

How long will delivery take?
Delivery times may vary depending on where you live, however our approximate delivery times are as follows:

Standard delivery of up to 5 working days. Example: If you placed an order at 8pm on a Thursday, your parcel will be dispatched Friday and you should expect delivery approximately Thursday or Friday the following week.

Please remember these are working days, so weekends and bank holidays are not included. We cannot entertain any queries until the period of time have been reached so please be patient. If you have not received your order by the maximum number of days allowed for delivery service chosen then please contact us a.s.a.p. quoting your Order number

What parcel carrier do you use?
For the vast majority of parcels we use DHL road express.

Please note:

Parcels will only be delivered to one given address either your credit card address or a stated delivery address but not both and only one address will be listed on the order. Someone must be available to sign for the parcel at the given address. Deliveries only happen Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. If you cannot be available then sending to a work address is an option. No special requests such as leave on door-step or behind bins etc can be adhered to.

For very small items, such as wing repeater lamps and indicators etc., we may us standard parcel post so as to keep the delivery charges as low as possible.

Can I track my order?
Unfortunately we have no way of automatically supplying parcel tracking numbers with shipments, but if you send an enquiry to us requesting the parcel tracking number we can oblige. Please note that parcel tracking is only available for items sent via DHL.

The lamp for my car is not listed. Can you supply it?
We are only able to supply items advertised on the site. If the lamp that you require is not listed then we are currently unable to supply it.

Online Shopping
Carlamp.com only accepts orders placed through our web site. It is not possible to phone-in orders or pay by cheque or postal order. We do not have a retail "bricks and mortar" store that you can visit and we are not able to provide a call and pick-up service for customers - all orders are dispatched directly to you with our own couriers.

How to Order
At Carlamp.com we supply two main categories of products, Replacement lighting and Accessory lighting. To order from one of these categories then just click on the relevant category button on the home page and you will progress to the next screen. On this next screen you will be presented with two drop-down menus to select the make and model of your car. If your make or model does not appear in the list then we don't have any products available for your car. Once you have successfully selected your model of car a list of all of the available lighting products for your car will be displayed.

You can view more details, pictures and prices for the lamp that you are interested in by clicking on the product details line. In most cases (except accessories) the rear of the lamp may be viewed by clicking on the picture. If the lamp that you see is the correct type and you wish to purchase it then click on the "add to cart" button.

On the next screen you will see a list of the items in your shopping cart, including the carriage charge. If everything is to your satisfaction, then click on the "go to checkout" button at the bottom of the screen and you will be transferred to the first step in the ordering process.

  • Step 1: Once in the checkout screen you will be viewing the details over a secure connection (note closed golden padlock in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen) and invisible to other internet users.
    Fill in the personal details such as your name, address and shipping information (if required you can use the text box at the bottom of the screen to enter an alternative delivery address). We recommend that you get items delivered to an address where you know someone will be available all day to receive them (DHL will look for a signature). We are more than happy to ship to your work address if you prefer.
  • Step 2: Make payment - Click on the "Make Payment" button on the bottom of the page and you will be transferred to the RBS Worldpay site where you will be asked for your card details.
  • Step 3: Once in "Make payment" you are requested to check the value of your order and select the card that you wish to make the payment with. Once you have selected your card you will be asked to enter your card details. This information is being entered on a secure page within RBS Worldpay to which even Carlamp.com have no access. Once the information has been entered just click on "make payment" again.

Once your details have been verified by RBS Worldpay you will be automatically transferred to the final page which will confirm that your payment was successful. You will also be given a Merchant Reference number (Carlamp.com order no.) and a RBS Worldpay Transaction number.

You will shortly receive two e-mail order confirmations, one from Carlamp.com and the other from RBS Worldpay. If after a couple of minutes you have not received a confirmation from either Carlamp.com or RBS Worldpay please contact us and let us know as it probably means that you have made a mistake when entering you e-mail address during the order process.

When will my order be dispatched?
If your order is received Monday to Friday before 4pm then it will be dispatched the same day (subject to stock availability). Any orders received after this time will be dispatched the next working day (i.e. if you order at 5.20pm on a Friday your order will not be dispatched until the following Monday).

I haven't received my goods
Firstly we would like to apologise for this. Secondly, please ensure you have allowed the appropriate length of time for delivery of the products - they could still be on their way. You need to allow:

Standard delivery: 4-5 business days. Example: If you placed an order at 8pm on a Thursday, your parcel will be dispatched Friday and you should expect delivery approximately Thursday or Friday the following week.

Express delivery : 2-3 business days. Example: If you placed an order at 3pm on a Sunday, your parcel will be dispatched on Monday. You should expect your parcel to be delivered to you on Wednesday or Thursday.

If you have allowed this much time then please check with your neighbours and anyone who may have accepted delivery of the parcel on your behalf. If this still does not locate the parcel then please contact us.

I want to return my order
At Carlamp.com we want you to be completely satisfied every time you shop with us; therefore we make our returns policy very simple. Our "no quibbles" promise means that if, for any reason, you are unhappy with the part that you have purchased, you can just return it to us in its original condition within 14 days of receiving the goods, and we will issue a refund for the price of the item.

This is subject to the following conditions:

Items for return are sent carriage paid (i.e. you pay for the carriage to get the parcel back to us). We will of course be happy to refund the delivery charge if the return is as a result of our error or if the goods arrived to you damaged.

Items for return (excluding those that were received damaged) must be in a re-saleable condition.

Damaged or incorrectly supplied items must be notified to Carlamp.com in writing either by e-mail to info@carlamp.com or by fax to 0800 9047778 within 3 days of receipt of your order. Once you have done this you will be given a goods returns number by return e-mail or fax.

All other Returns MUST be notified to Carlamp by email info@carlamp.com or fax 0800 9047778. We will then provide you with a Returns number and address. These Returns MUST be accompanied by a Returns number, senders name and address, and a copy of the original invoice (which would have been emailed to you) stating the reason for the return. This allows for tracking the item(s) when they reach our warehouse and also efficient processing of refunds as required. Please note Returns should NOT be sent to our registered office.

Please note that we can only process returns for items purchased from Carlamp.com.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

Warranty
A limited one year warranty is provide by Carlamp.com and is applied to all our automotive lamps, and warrant these lamps to be free from defects in workmanship and material. Liability will under no circumstances exceed the amount of its original sale or the replacement of the defective merchandise.

Carlamp.com warranty does not cover merchandise failure due to abuse, misuse, improper installation, improper maintenance, improper and unauthorised repairs, alteration or modification.

Furthermore, this warranty does not cover any freight charges, the cost of parts removal, consequential or subsequent damages, or normal ware and tear.

A returns number must be obtained for any faulty items being returned. Any items returned carriage unpaid will be refused.

Is it safe to use a credit or debit card over the Internet?
The Internet works by sending information from computer to computer until the information reaches its destination. Our secure server software uses 128 bit encryption technology (40 bit if you are using an older web browser), which literally provides billions of code combinations per order transaction and prevents other Internet users from accessing your personal details.
